Default Smart people help me!

Well got the rpm gauge working, had to sauder in a resistor to the tach wire. Its working but way off how can I fix it? Using hp tuners thanks.

Their should be a switch on the tach.. Which makes it 4,6,8 cylinders

a switch on the tach module? My tach gauge In the dash is v8 I kno cuz I took out a 350 . It reads just not right on the rpms like its out of sync. Very low reading even when I get on it.

Sorry I thought you was using a aftermarket tach. Your resistor is holding to much back. You'll need to swap it out with one with less residence

Its a 1k 1/4 watt 5% tolerance, what would I need then?

I don’t know which one you need, but I still feel you need to look at one of the TACH adapters to convert the signal, such as the ones below. I feel your ’93 cluster is looking for the typical 8cyl signal and your newer PCM is sending out a 4cyl signal. I would contact Autometer and ask them which one should work for your application.

So would the different resistor work? The tach is working just not reading accurate

Would a 5% tolerance b to much restricting on the signal making it work just not accurate?
