Default A slight exhaust fitment problem

Well, I now have a 3"/3" Gibson muffler and 3"/3" cutout that are waiting to be put on my 06 RCSB Silvy. But I noticed 2 slight problems today.

#1. The pieces are 3" yet my stock piping is slightly over 2.75", which I figure, no biggie I can just get step-ups to fix that, but it will drive the price up.

#2. I am wanting to dump the Gibson before the muffler. But I measured the muffler to be 32" long, and the cutout at 10" long. Now the I-pipe in the stock exhaust from the first vertical bend coming off of the Y to the first vertical bend going over the axle is 40", but my exhaust pieces measure 42"!!! And that's without counting in the length of the step-ups. Also I need to figure in a good distance for the turndown (which is seeming like it will be placed after the axle now which really eliviates the purpose).

UGH! Everytime you think something is going good with mods there's always a problem. So does anyone know of a setup or some advice to eliviate this problem while still keeping the look and sound that I want out of it?

Thanks.

they can weld 3" onto 2.75 without any problems. and i dont see how the I pipe isnt long enough unless you plan on keeping the factory muffler in place...which would be pointless. take it to the exhaust shop and tell them what you want and they will make it happen

You've got a muffler 3 FEET LONG ?!?!?!...I'm not sure your gonna be able to fit a dump in with a mufler that long, how about drop to a 22" long Magnaflow and use a mandrel bent 3" 90º for the dump

That's the thing, the Gibson is 32" and I have the 10" cutout to throw in too. I know I can do it while still running pipe out the back, but I really wanted to dump it before the axle so that it cleans it up in the back...

why would dumping it right over the axle not be a clean look? there is no tailpipe to deal with
