Default Silverado SS has a clutch fan?

Was reading through the turbo post and someone mentioned this. Any reason they went this route? Anyone converted to electric fans?

The clutch fan is actually better for towing. You can use LS1, LT1 or flexalite 282's on the SS though with nice results.

Please do a search on electric fans, it is kinda a over talked about subject in this forum.

I'm running a flexalite 282 fan kit on my SS. The fit and finish are perfect.

I wish someone would make a plug n play electric fan kit for our trucks that was both thermostatically controlled and had a switch override if you wanted it to be on. The things would sell like hotcakes.

Um....just add a parallel toggle switch and 12v hot line to the switch side of the relays on the Flax-a-Lite 282's...you switch it on, the relay get power, and the fans come on, you switch it off and if the thermostat says it's too hot the fans stay on, it it's cool eough the fans turn off

The VSC controller that comes with the fan kit has 2 other connections that you could use. One turns the fans on all the time, the other turns them off regardless of operating conditions. Just wire a switch to the cab for these pins and you'd have full control.

You missed the part about plizzug and plizzay. No splice connectors, no wiring, no finding a good ground, plug n play.

Yo Snoop - Plug and play into what? GM didn't set the truck up for electric fans, so there is NO PLUG to PLAY with.
