Default Shorties?

Hi guys.
I was taking the EGR off the manifold the other day and a bolt broke off. Instead of trying to drill it out or weld over the hole, I was thinking of getting some shorties as a direct-replacement. Specifically, I was looking at Gibsons and JBAs (stainless). Does anyone have any experience with these? Can I use the later year version without the EGR & AIR tubes like these?:

Thanks

The JBA's are what I have but mine are the coated ones. Why not just put long tubes on and be done with it?

Mainly the cost. I'd like LT's, but I can get the shorties for a lot less & not have to get new cats and a new Y-pipe, right? I've got the same issue on the Camaro. That still has the stock manifolds but I was able to get the EGR tube out without breaking a bolt & I covered the hole with a steel plate.

Price? JBA's are close to $600, Gibson's a little less, but yeah with cats and y-pipe the lt's would be be a little more.

I have a set of used Gibson stainless shorties that I will be selling soon...but my recommendation is to get a good set of long tubes. I felt a noticeable difference when switching from the shorties to the StainlessWorks LT's and catted y-pipe.

If you INSIST on using shorties, then why pay that much for Gibson or JBA? Summit Racing brand shorties...$145.00.....they do the same thing...

Those can't be stainless. IMO you should get stainless steel.
But, you could always buy 2 or 3 sets of those for $145 and still be cheaper than some good ones
