this waht happened to my trans after having a friend rebuild it and then telling me it was a performance transmission. AKA...Bullitproof.... what a joke!
this is the sun shell its not suppost to have the gear in the middle, suppost to slide right off. but the are welded together cant get them apart

you cant tell but inside the small hole there used to be gears. nomore because they have all been strip.

yeah this is the sprang, the springs are not suppost to fall out. but when he went to pick it up it just fell apart

this is the output shaft, or part of it. completely sheared in two.

here is the other piece

these are the burnt up shims for the clutch packs the clutches are totally gone also.

well there was mor damage but you couldnt tell what it was, just a big pile of crap that didnt resemble any thing. Should be getting the truck back tomrrow, hope is everything the guy says it will be. if it is ill be in truck heaven

I know how ya feel. I did the same thing to a tranny with my old truck (check the sig). Only difference was I paid 2g's for my tranny and was told it would hold anything I could throw to it.
When I got it I could bark the tires between 1/4 and 1/2 throttle. I took it back within a couple of weeks to get him to ease up on the shift, and he took about 1/3 of the washer out by grinding on it. Needless to say with the billet servos and kevlar clutches and all the other good ****, it was still barking the tires around 1/2 throttle. One day it didn't bark them .. it just made this hellacious bang somewhere around the front of the tranny. The sad thing was I wasn't even getting on it at the time, maaaybbe 2/3 throttle or so.
Anyways .. sry about your trouble. It looks like to me you need to get a better friend to deal with. I know I won't be going back to the same tranny shop!
On a side note, I was talking to the dealership one day after I traded in the truck. The shobby tranny came into the conversation. I told the guy I took it and had it checked out and he said it was all ok. They asked me who built it, and I told them the name of the shop. The guy at the dealership called him by name, not the name of the shop, and said he usually does excellent work.
