Default Racing my truck tonight - need your opinions

Just for fun I'm going to make a few passes in my 03 Silverado 4x4 tonight. I was wondering what's the best way to do so:

1. Auto 4WD
or
2. 4WH

In your experiences which setting has given you the best runs?

BTW, it's also a 4.8L stock so I'm figuring 16's with this air as cold as it is. Your thoughts and thanks in advance?!

is that an ext cab?

in my truck i ran the best times with it in auto 4wd. in 2wd the thing will just barely peal out but that is enuff to slow it down.

i have alot of practice with my gtech and have come to trust it to within 2/10ths in the 1/4. the 60' times are always within 1/100. with about 100lbs of weight reduction i have ran a best of 15.4 on the street. with about 20runs in on diferent nights the worst ET i have seen is a 16.0(with 2 people in the truck).

now here is the wierd part. i only have one run in at the track but it was SLOW, weather was similar, altitude is only about 300' diferent, weight was less than ever(no gate). i ran a 16.7 , i forget to turn on the gtech but a run later in the night with a 100shot put it well within the 2/10ths that it always is. my current theory is that sitting in the staging lanes for 1/2hour ideling alowed it to get warmer than it ever was on the street, engauging the clutch fan and whatever other tuning things may have slowed it down from the extra heat.

going back tonight, got some electric fans and a cold tstat and am hoping for times similar to my street times, 15.5 i hope.

BTW, with a 100shot it is WAY better to launch in 4hi and then shift into 2wd about 50mph. i know your not running nitrous but for futrue reference at some point you will want to switch over to 4hi, the engaugement of the auto part slightly after you start to peal out is very harsh once you start to make some power.

A G-Tech isn't accurate at all. Use either a dyno or a 1/4 mile track to measure performance. If the clocks say 16.7 and the G-tech says 15.2, well the G-tech, as always, is waaay off.

no, your waaay offf, i have used my new gtech at the track at least 30 times on my trucks and other peoples vehicles and also use the old style gtech many times AT THE TRACK. it has never been off more than .18sec in the 1/4. never off more than .01 for the 60'. it is an awsume tuning tool.

It's an ext.cab! I'm concerned about the auto 4wd too once the truck gets going. I'll give it shot and see what happens!
