I don't know where you guys came up with this cam being retarded 6 degrees.
According to http://sdparts.com/category/ls-gen-i...ormance?page=4
HT1 SDPC LSX Truck Cam 214/218 .559/.562 111 (CC54-ST1-11) Intake Center Line: 109
Looks like a 111+2 to me.
And as previously noted, this should be nothing like a the comp hi lift 212/218 which has a 115LSA with no advance ground in.

Since the part number has a "CC" in it, it makes me think that it's a Comp grind...could be Crane, as they used to grind SDPC's cams, but that stopped when Crane went belly up and I don't believe that SDPC renewed the contract when Crane was bought and reopened it's doors...not 100% sure though so don't quote me on that lol. I am curious now though...might give SDPC a call when I get a chance and ask them who grinds their cams now...

LOL i was just picken!
All these guys preaching about lift.
Some of the best small cams are low lift and can hang with the higher lift more duration cams!
I just dont see stressing valve train so much with a head that doesnt flow much after 550.
With a better flowing head i am all for more lift

i know this is taking the thread a little more off topic, but i thought overlap had more to do with idle characteristics (lope, chop, whatever) than just the LSA. Not trying to stir anything up, just trying to learn more about cams.
