Well it is not any cheaper than Autotap but I wonder how the software compares and how fast the log rates are? Cause I am very dissapointed at how slow my Autotap is.

The best scan tool available for a laptop can be found at EASE software.

http://www.obd2.com/personal/persona...nced%20Pricing

It covers more than autotap and can be converted to an excel file. Some of the items are LTFT, KR ratio's, air fuel ratio, what temps the fan turns on, etc. everything in the PCM. You can do a twenty minute test run on the X-way and find all the info you need.

Using that info, you can then make your LS1 edit corrections. Take another run and find out the results.

Auto Enginuity's scan tool used an ELM interface (read that as SLOW).....it will do real-time scanning ONLY if you are only scanning ONE PID at a time, it only refreshes at 4hz (or 4 cycles per second), as compared to EFILive or AutoTap that refresh about 45 times a second (which lets them scan 10 PIDS and still have a decent log rate).....

If you are gonna spend that kind of money....go with EFILive

I know its not as good as Atap but what if I could get the PC version AND the palm version for less than $200.oo? I always have have a palm strapped to my hip, and I would use the PC at the track. The most important things (only things) I would want to watch is the 02 and KR when under nitrous. Make sure Im not hurting anything. Right now Im flying blind, and only using a small 60 shot, with an eye on things I would be able to double the shot with some confidence.

I'm not sure either of the platforms will show the KR (it's manufacturer specific and only a couple of the scan tools show it because it's a mode 22 pid), and if you were recording 2 O2 sensors and KR you would only see the results for each one once a second (WAY too slow to be usefull at the dragstrip)

Quick Reply: scan tool input.
