Default running gutted cats or no cats

I got a 2500 with a 6.0 and was wondering if I can gut my cats or take them out. I live in a state with no emissions but was curious if the truck would run right .

Yes. If you do not have emissions testing you can remove your cats. You will throw a check engine light which will need to be fixed in order to pass inspection

gains wont really be noticeable at all untill you retune for the new airflow. simple as that. But yes, its a difference.

If your going to go through the work of taking the Y pipe off just to gut the cats why not get long tubes and a ORY?
Btw my neighbor gutted his cats and put a flowmaster on his 2500 and it honestly sounds like horse ****

On the forum i mod we ban for cat removal talk... Then again it is a offroad forum where people catch stuff on fire doing this...

It is a federal law... Its illegal whether u have emissions or not... Run a high flow cat... They flow just as well but stays legal and doesnt hurt anything... Spun high flow cats on ebay are only $40...

From the tiny gain you get from removing the cats seems hardly worth it when considering the environmental impact.
