Default rough driving in heavy rain??

I was driving down the interstate today in very heavy rain goin about 75-80. All of a sudden the truck feels like it just all of a sudden runs out of gas. It starts bucking real hard like the fuel pump is going bad. This is very strange the trucks never done this before. I have a keystone functional ram-air hood and the aem intake, i thought some water or moisture may have gotten on the maf possibly, but i have no idea.

Sounds very likely. The MAF is basically a heated element that measures air flow by a change in heat on the element (the way I understand it anyhow). Water introduced could greatly effect the rate of heat exchange and would richen up the mixture severly. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

The MAF sensor goes to pretty much 0 when water hits it it. I have seen this in logs when I was spraying, meth through it, but is was disable (SD), but was still plugged in. Most likely you ingested some water. Did it thorw a P0101 or P0103 code?

Same thing happens with my Suncoast hood. Turns out there were supposed to be drain holes in the air ducting that were missing. I drilled 3 holes and that helped out a lot, but I carry a shop fender cover around so I can stuff it in the hole in the underside of the hood. I also think the water getting in eventually caused my throttle body to go bad when it got moisture in it. I was considering making a plexiglass block off for it to install when it rains.

well the only thing that makes me think it may not be that is because it has never done it before and iv had the hood for a while. The hood holds water until you open it and then it all comes out through the rails in it. I cant decide if it was just a coincidence it was raining or it thats what it was. I pulled over at a gas station and the top of the filter wasnt wet at all but the bottom was so duno. It definately wouldnt surprise me if the fuel pump, an injector, or a coil pack was going out with over 100k miles on the truck.
