I am going to be installing a cam in my 2007 5.3 LY5 next month. I have chosen a Comp Cam that has .534 lift, with the 1.8 rockers it will be .567. I called Comp Cams technical assistance Friday and they advised it would be fine. Not only do you get the extra lift but you will get 1-1.5 degrees more duration.

What are the rest of the specs on the cam and who manufactured it? As long as the lobes aren't too agressive, you will be fine. More than likely, with lift that small, you'll be OK with the 1.8 rockers. I'd only go with the bigger rockers if you already have them though, or have a line on a cheap used set or something. For the price of new rockers, you can just get a new cam with more lift and sell the cam you already have which will help offset the price of the new cam

You can also get the comp upgrade kit to make your stock rockers more reliable. If you want roller rockers though...I like the HS and YTs. I am thinking of getting some YT 1.8 for my burb just because it has a 100k on it.

That's a Comp cam correct? You'll be fine with 1.8 rockers...as a matter of fact, on Thunder Racing's website they list that cam and have a note that it "likes higher rocker ratios"...

sounds good. so that should put my lift over .56x which means that the yellow springs are out the door correct?

I have run LS6 springs (yellow springs) with a comp XR265 hi lift before and never had a problem and I think it had around the same max lift as you will have. But do whatever makes you happy, were always on a budget around here. It had .558/.563 lift but thats just my .02 worth.
