Default Resonance issues with Magnaflows

Trying to come up with ways to remove the resonance in my new system. It is 2.5" duals off long tubes to x-pipe then 18" long XL series Magnaflows and short (9" or so long) magnaflow 4" dia tips.

Problem area is really around the 2100 rpm area. I want to swap gears but if I do I will be cruising in the resonace are and it just drives me batty
If I can't get the resonace out i'll just keep my current gears. about the only thing I can think of would be some glasspacks, short or long not sure. If so would putting them in front of the mufflers be better or after? Or would they even do anything? How about before the x pipe? Or what about adding Cats?
Any help with your previous experiences would be appreciated.

Here is an intersing thread.

It's kinda long but basically they are saying that resonace is caused after the muffler in the tailpipes and say that it may help to add a x-over pipe after the mufflers. I also wonder if the 4" tips have anything to do with it?

I have the same muffler with Dynatechs and no cats. I added a 6"x14" magnaflow bullet in front of my muffler right before I put the headers on and I don't have much resonance at all compared to just the muffler welded in. Not sure how it would have sounded without it, but i'm sure it would help you.

There are a couple of us experimenting with the dynatech vortex cones to deal with resonance. I don't have near the setup that you do but the resonance in my 5.3L with LT's,no cats and a single magnaflow catback is annoying at around 1800 rpm so I am going to try one of the cones to see if it helps. Here is a link to what I'm talking about. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...2&autoview=sku

Looks interesting. I'd like to hear your opinions once you install.

Look over here https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=387738 for more info on the discussion. I will post my observation over there after I get it installed.

The cone idea is worth trying maybe. I'll wait to see what ya'lls results are. And to clarrify I have 2 seperate Magnaflows 4"x9"x18" oval.

It's tempting to buy one of those cones and an SLP Loudmouth I resonator and see how it sounds....

Not very happy. My first impressions on the cone after I installed it in the end of the y-pipe where it bolts to the rest of the exhaust are not good. I only went for a short drive but so far I noticed very little difference, sounds almost the same maybe a very slight improvement. I'm not ready to give up on it just yet though, I am thinking about trying to install it after the muffler this weekend. I was going to try to put it there tonight but I couldn't get the pipe loose from the muffler. Any suggestions on how to get the pipe loose from the muffler without hacking it up?
