I hear ya bro. I got a smokin *** deal on my Prestige 996A. They usually install them for $700. And for what i got with mine it would have been around $930. But i only paid $350 for mine. It pays to have hook ups on ****.

I think some of the issues have been with the installs. I had mine installed at a local shop called Caton Radio, who is been in business like 35 years or something. I just wouldn't trust some of the places like Best Buy and such, who have kids working there who really could care less about your ****. Just my .02

i sold dei products for eight years and we brought in others including prestige and code and between those 2 it would definitely be prestige over code but neither one is even close to the quality of any DEI product(viper, python, sidewinder, hornet). code is just not very installer or user friendly. go with a DEI product and have it installed by an authorized DEI installer and a reputable shop. if the installer is an authorized dei installer he will have a certificate from dei showing that he completed their training and most reputable shops will have those posted on a wall in their shop. on cars these days there are so many things that you can burn up if not careful and BCM's are usually the first to go and are not cheap.

Thanks all! I didn't think it was going to be all this involved, especially with the alarms and all, but I'm sure it's a good investment. Now all I need to do is find a good installer. I don't think there's any installers at all in these parts. I'll probably have to do it in the Va Beach area.

I just had one professionally installed on my Denali for $274 by a company that does installs for local dealers. It's a very basic unit that still allows the factory alarm to be used. Well worth it in my book.

I have a Viper as well in my truck, and it was in the $400 range installed.......I need to spend more time to understand everything it does...All I use it for is the remote start..

In my wifes truck I have the remote start that works with the factory remote...It cost $200 installed and that was the best $200 I ever spent...
