I have had Viper alarms and remote starts on three vehicles now and never had a problem. Plus Viper has lifetime warranty.

Ive got a Viper 550 ESP. I had to put the DEI 555L bypass moduel in. All works well. I only had one problem, but it was due to my dumb ***. One of my door trigger wires came loose. Didnt solder it well enough... SOOOO, then it fell on a contact of the cranking relay. So when I opened my drivers door the goddam truck would crank!!!! Took me a while to figure out the problem.. It was sporadic... Till one day it kept on cranking and cranking. Then I shut the door and it stopped.. Anyways, get the 555L off eBay. I got mine off there for 20 bucks shipped back when I put my alarm in. Heres one on eBay right now, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

Remember when you put the module in, it is best to solder the passlock wires rather than use butt connectors or anything else. A resitance value is passed over that wire to the BCM. If its not correct the truck wont start.

I've got a Crimestopper paging system. No problems and great range. The only downside is that the remote is larger than a lot of the other systems. Purchase of the system plus install, including two paging remotes with leather cases, was $420. The system was purchased off eBay and I had it installed locally.

Code alarms suck ***. Sorry. I have heard nothing but problems with them. I havent seen anyone here in Sacramento selling them for a long time. Prestige and Viper are the best on the market.

A buddy of mine that I used to work with went and bought a cheap *** remote start for under $100 and I laughed at him and told him that it wouldn't last long at all but he has had it on for over a year now with no problems. He has been lucky................... so far.
