I have the Viper-791XV which is the LCD remote-2 way alarm/remote start and it is really nice. It cost me out the *** to get and have it installed but it was wort it in the long run with asll the **** I have. I think I payed like $500+ but I got alot of extra sit like back up batteries, mini piezos, and some extra sensors. The remote start is the shiznit in the winter and summer.

With all the alarm Bs on trucks and cars now days This bypass most of them used by Gm ford and dodge and all that. Most newer cars and trucks require them for a remote starter.

Ah! I understand now. Thanks

Let me do some research on the starters and I'll get back with you.

I have been hearing alot of people are having issues with remote starts on their trucks. Has anyone else heard this? Is the problems from the install or the equipment?

i have the viper with transponder remote on mine as well and there are 2 modules you have to have to bypass the factory security crap and if you want the factory door dinger i believe there is a 3rd module to buy. overall i hve not had any troubles except for the factory security light coming on occasionally. they do have current sensing on them and if you leave your headlights on or if you have an electric fan that is set to run after the switch is off then it will set the alarm off. the only down side to them is that you will notice a loss of mpg if you let it run to long to often.

I have had mine for almost a year now and I use the remote start 4-5 times a day and have not had one problem. I will tell you this just from experience if you buy say the Viper on that is proven quality product you wont have any problems if you get it installed by a certified installer that has a good rep! Dont go cheap on a alarm or remote start!
