Default Refreshing a motor

For those that haven't seen my other threads, I found metal shavings in my oil pan. I decided that I want to tear down the LQ9, clean it thoroughly, run all new bearings and such, put it back together and sell it. The engine only has 20K miles on it, but I don't want to sell an engine to someone that could potentially have a problem that I would be responsible for. So.....I am looking for a list of what I can reuse and what I should replace, any machine work that should be done to the block, what I can use to clean everything up, etc etc.

I don't even think I would take it that far. It's so low mileage anyway, pull it down, clean and inspect everything. If no copper is showing on the cam bearing, I'd leave them. Put a new set of main and rod bearings in it since they cheap and easy, and reassemble it. It should be good with that.

I've pulled pistons and put them back in the same hole with out re-ring it. Shouldn't be a problem. Should still seal. With only 20k on them, that my opinion

FYI... copper showing on the cam bearings is normal.

He may be able to get away with used rings if he hones it. I wouldnt personally do it but this is one of those "personal opinion" areas. I was **** about engine assembly until the 4th time I put my 418 together.
