Default recommended exhaust size for mostly stock 5.3?

which do u guys think is the best setup for my truck , i have no cats and i want duals, either one mufffler with dual outlets or two mufflers with single outlets. im thinking of the hooker aerochambers, 3in/3out ,is that too much flow for sufficient back pressure? or should i go with 2 1/2? i want a deep aggressive sound and good torque. thanks

If you run true duals, I go with an x-pipe setup, with 2.5 inch pipe.

this should be a good starting point for you. i plan on doing this upgrade in the future except with 2 3/4 or 3 in.

2.5" true duals w/ no cats on mine. ive got 40 series flowmasters. i dont think 3" is necessary. definitely use 2 mufflers, single in/out. CHIP

If you dont do the "X" pipe, deffinaltly use the dual in/out magnaflow. And go with 2.5" pipe.

2 1/2 for sure. unless you're running alot of boost or a big cam you aren't going to gain from 3" duals on a 5.3L.

I have a custom 3" true dual with H-pipe setup on my 5.3 and performs great with awesome sound. It just gets annoying rattling everything in the cab.
