I went from stock 3.73/1 open to richmond 4.10/1 and an auburn pro. I love it. Install was a booger because the bearings that the speed shop provided were to small(stock chevy bearings worked) but it hooks and books on the street.
I think if I do it again I,ll go 4.56/1 and just let it top out in o.d. I spent about $900. all together, after crush sleeve, shims, bearings, labor. My improvement was minor at the track but major on the street.I noticed about 1/2 mpg drop but that may be foot related.Highway speeds 70mph @ 2200rpm and pulls my horse trailer better. Good Luck,
Jim
p.s. The V8 Dakota that could jump me at the light can't anymore.

You only need a new carrier if you get taller than 3.08/1.

Cool, so all I need is the ring and pinion and the G80, right? (I'm going to find a shop to install it)
