I do no towing. Maybe every once in a while will have 500lbs in bed when moving something. Could do the shift kit and servo. Already have the shift firmed up a little with the handheld and can firm it more that way. Probably not the best way though.

I probably buy the headers before buying new tires.
Ive got a 3k stall and am running with the factory cooler I upgraded the cluster to a escalade to see tanny temps. Under normal driving it ranges from 140 to 150 around town if your really hot rodding around mine goes up to 180 to 185 which I believe is acceptable. I plan on staying with the stock cooler. Of course it is winter now if summer comes and the temp get around 200 Im going to upgrad the cooler then. The stall makes driving alot of fun I think you will get more enjoyment out of that then long tubes. My vote is for the stall as with a stock engine and long tubes you will loose low end torque and thats what we need
hope this helps

A really good converter like the one mentioned, is going to give you about 2 tenths in the first 60' if you don't smoke the tires.
I can't imagine headers knocking a half of a second off in the quarter. I'm not saying its not possible, I just can't believe it. Get the converter.

You would definitely get better gains from the stall converter. I think you might also want to consider a shift kit, but definitely the servo upgrade and a good trans. cooler.

Sorry for the delay in response. Thanks for your inputs. I still sitting on the fence about this one. I am kinda leaning towards doing the headers now and in a few months or so get the TC. The headers will add some low end torque and are good idea to get before getting other mods. Again thanks for the input.

Because I thought it would be helpful in making the decision. From what appears, a TC should have gearing, cam specs, and weight considered. Well since I have not decided of going the route of a gear swap or cam, how can I decide on the converter? It just started making since to do the other items first. What order did you get your mods?
