if your looking for et the yank is gonna yeild more than the headers. and this is saying you are starting from a stand still. the headers are gonna be there from the bottom to the top no matter if you are stopping or going.
so what are you after. off the line acceleration or more power for everyday driving? keep in mind, you will probably end up needing some good tires with the yank.

I was looking more for everyday driving. But with that being said, I also like to take off quickly. So is the TC really only good for dead stop accelleration and chaging the RPM drop between shifts?

yank best bang for buck lower your e.t make your ride feel like a whole new truck man and dont get me wrong LT are great but i like performance first and the yank will have it and no the yank will even help with highway accelleration due to the fact that it will stall rather than sitting at the low rpm in the OD gear

Sounds like the TC is going to be the better performance mod. What else should be done with a new converter? I already have a trans cooler (factory tow package) and I figure I can change shift points with the handheld. I am going to have to keep the stock shoes for now. I probably buy the headers before buying new tires.

I vote headers. Horse power gain will be all the time, give you a solid half sec. in the quarter, and be great from a punch to the redline. And it will sound like a big block.
A really good converter like the one mentioned, is going to give you about 2 tenths in the first 60' if you don't smoke the tires.

If you get the converter itself, it will soften your shifts... therefore, I would couple it with a shift kit and some billet servos. Also get a tranny cooler. If you are not able to do all this at once, I would stick with basic boltons like the headers.. but between the two the converter will probably yield better times.
