Probably because you can never be certain a problem will or won't show up when modding. Some people will have problems, some won't, when you modify anything from stock you have to understand nothing is ever 100%.
When making changes, if you don't start with this in mind, you are setting yourself up for dissapointment. Sometimes mods take time to sort through, which, if you don't have a mechanical backround, can get expensive.

In the end, it's your call, Magnuson is willing to "buy back", if you don't think your up for the trouble or expense, I would suggest you jump on this offer. Not many companies that operate in this day and age would do so.
