I think a 212/218 in your truck would behave in a similar manner to the way the 205/212 does in mine. If you're a little nervous and want to be safe, I'd say get a 210/218 like marc_w has in his truck. With your stock converter stalling at ~2500 RPM, you should have no problems moseying around town, as well as having fun on the on-ramps. There is little to no risk with this choice, IMO.

OTOH, you could roll the dice and get a 214/222 or something similar and see what happens...now that feels a little more exciting, doesn't it?

I think Comp's 212/218 (-13* of overlap @ .05) will be similar to C-motions 214/222 (-12* of overlap @ .05). Cam-motion's will act a bit bigger with more duration @ .006 and .05 and added overlap. Compare that to Nakids w/ nearly -20* of valve overlap @ .050 .

'lil bit of editing does the trick

Coming from a guy that lives in Cali, a 346 on a regular ol Comp lobe can pass with about -3, -4* of valve overlap @ .05

Now. People are always talking about the TR224 on a 114lsa is the biggest you can go and pass smog. Lets take a look at it. It has -4* of valve overlap @ .05 . How about that!

With your larger cubes, you could easily step up a bit and pass smog.

SportSide, really appreciate your insight, helps to hear others concur on Cam Specs for my application. Where did you learn all your Cam knowledge?

it's nice to have a good discussion on Cams like this, thanks to everyone for their contributions and advice!

Still trying to decide. That recommendation from Allan really threw me off.

yea the bolt is just too weak and it puts too much pressure on it and it just breaks off in the head. We talked to them and they said we are not the first people to have this problem. sounds safe to me.......NO
there is no reason to change rocker arms. we have cars running 9.25s with stock rocker arms

Thanks, I'll just replace the bolts with stronger bolts, or some studs. Thanks again for the info
