If you upgrade the trans with a shift kit and billet servos, then you should be ok with the Radix. It is all in how you drive the truck! If you are like me and have your foot pushed to the floor all the time, then even a stock trans will not last forever!

I'd budget in a new trans the increase of input torque from the blower and converter will be it's demise. A TransGo and billet servos will help along with a big cooler but get ready for it to be replaced.
BTW...that stock Superchips programming sucks. L28gofast picked up ~.5 sec with a tune.

One of the good things about the programming is that it's conservative so this will help the tranny. A custom program will give you more power and lower ETs but can be harder on the drivetrain. Either way more boost is just a pulley swap away

If you drive with moderation the transmission will last.If you drive like I do you could break about one transmission a month, the builder who does my transmissions has warranted mine six times.I guess the words I can build a 4L60E strong enough to live with 700 hp are still haunting the guy.

Yeah but remember the sheer mass of trucks/SUVs is like adding more power too. Those trannies I don't think GM ever intended to be in a supercharged truck.
As I've said before if some one could make billet input shafts, billet output shafts, CNC'd steel input drum, and a steel Sun Gear Reaction shell I think the 4L60E could take a LOT more power then. Hell if there is room for 1/2" longer input drum additional clutches could be added for >8 in there using 4L60E clutches. I think the TH350 ones are thinner so you maybe albe to get like 10-12 inthere then!

The 4L65E is a MUCH needed factory update. Better input/output shafts, 5 pinion planets, 7 clutches in 3-4 pack, etc I'd say with a BIG cooler, TransGo, and billet servos it'd be fine for a while...much better off than a 4L60E. 00silverado just tossed an ATI Procharge on his SS and I believe he has a stock 4L65E
One of the members on LS1truck.com has a Radix on his SS truck with that stuff done to his tranny too. His truck also has a tune and smaller pulley too.

There's really nothing like the sound a 5 pinion planetary exploding when you hit second gear or limping home with no first or second gear.Admittedly my Tahoe is making a lot more power than it's supposed to and I drive it hard but I'm giving up on the 4L60E.
