Quick NGK TR55 question
#1
I just bought a set. When I asked the guy at the counter if I had the right one for my truck, he gave me a # diff. then on the package. I told him I knwe that I needed TR55s, so he said it should work fine. Now that I'm ready to put them in, they're about 1/4" longer then the stockers! Can I still use them? I can just emagine totally destroying the engine by changing the plugs. That would be just my luck.

just unhook it from the right side of the tb and plug that hose in where the one is comming of the block. its easier than doing all that other crap. it work for mine and still has.

Not sure about the part #, threw the packing out after changing them. It started no problem, so I'm guessing everything is ok. It just took me an hour, $20 for plugs, $20 for 3/8 swivel extension, two trips to the auto parts store, and busted knuckles... but at least I did it myself!!! Yah, the back passenger side one was tricky. A 3" extension was too long and no extension didn't work. I looked for a 2" or 1" but no such thing. Ended up getting the swivel. Thanks for the help guys, and 4.8T I'm going to have a look at that tonight and see if I can rig up what you described. I've got a 3/8"ID union I think might do the trick if not. Thanks again!!

Damn, those are two good ideas. I wish I would have thought of that before throwing twenty bucks away. As for the TB bypass, I'm thinking I might try to have something in there permanent that I can just switch over twice a year. Like having a three way valve setup or something. Sould be easy enough, and would prevent me removing my cold air intake. What do you guys think? Oh, and sorry about filp-floping on the forum subject.
