Instead of having to remove the intake in the fall, and switch the hoses around back to stock, I would just have to switch a valve. Just think of it like when a train is made to come off the tracks, they pull a leaver and re-direct the train's route... same thing. Am I making any sence? I think so.

why would you want this is what i'm asking i understand what the valve does but why would you want it. if its for the cold i wouldn't bother i drove mine all winter in maine and it was fine. and its not far from canada

Well, if the cold can effect it, it will where I'm headed. I'm going to Fort McMurray in a month which is WAY up north, like it's only light out for two hours a day in the winter, and a cold snap can stay around -40C for a couple of weeks on end. I guess I'll just try the two barbed conector, and if it gives me trouble next summer I'll do the valve thing. Good to hear yours is working well!
