my 4.8 5spd 99 rcsb has an intake and dumped exhaust.
only has 55k miles on it.
what high of a nitrous shot can i go with a wet system? can i run down teh 1/4 mi in 4hi safely? will it blow up my transmission? and what kind of time could i expect?
im looking for the cheapest ways to get to low 14's-mid 13's. i doubt the Nitrous alone is gonna get me to 14's, but i figure after Thorley headers, 4.10 gears and nitrous i could be close. if i have traction that is

so after reading im pretty confident i can handle a 100 wet shot, and was amazed when i read a 150wetshot and hppIII and t-stat got a guy a 13.1, thats crazy.
probably gonna go with a NX kit,wet shot, and start out at a 50, than goto 100...and maybe push 125. might eventually get injectors and a new pump(if i have to) and go with a 150 shot.
im assuming my transmission can take it...but if i go the full way down teh 1320 can my transfer case and drivetrain take it?
also..are there ANY light weight wheels that fit our trucks? or am i gonna have to find a place that can custom make some?

We have shift on the fly transfer cases, why not launch in 4 hi then after the 1-2 shift go into 2wd. I think the transfer case is probably stronger than the 4L60 anyway.

I wouldnt use the Hypertech if thats what your using... I think it advances the timing too much!! Im not completly sure but I think it says on their packaging to not use with nitrous... My buddy and his ford truck had a bad experience with it.....Mine will be done tommorow....

i can adjust my shift points myself...just shift later. its a 5spd. i just need something for rev limit. i figure after nitrous and gears(unless i stick with the 3.73s) ill get a cam and valvetrain work so i can rev higher...maybe redline at 7k...unless teh bottom end can't take it with the nitrous hit.
i have a 5spd 4.8, i have the shift lever for my transfer case not the push button.
i launchced today in 4hi and its crazy compared to 2hi lol. might go do it some more...3am no one needs to sleep
im probalby gonna go with the NX kit. get a window switch...but i kinda want a push button just so i can have the 'go baby go' button. ill put it on my shifter, but DEF have an arming switch on the dash with the cover and all. i like buttons lol.
now, should i stick with the 3.73s or go with 4.10's? if it wasn't a daily driver i'd be all over 4.56's or 4.88's lol.

You can run a 100 wet shot all day long on the stock fuel system. Some people get away with running 150 wet on stock fuel pump other dont. If you want to run a 150 shot spend $125+ and get a bigger fuel pump. If I were you I would go for the 100 shot 1st and get a feel for it and if uou want to go bigger later then upgrade the fuel issue. I wouldnt spray even the smallest shot of n20 on a Hypertech tune but thats me. As far as the tranny. If you want it to last do not spray through the shifts get a window switch(the MSD digital one is the best deal by far-its real nice!). The 3 main things you need besdies the n20 kit is window switch, NX TPS switch, and automatic bottle warmer(Dynotune------->

cool cool. only 'tune' the hypertech would do is remove rev limit. and that wont be til i upgrade the valvetrain
ill just get a wet 100 shot for now....later on get a new fuel pump. when i goto upgrade the valvetrain ill get new injectors.
thats the plan for now..it being lifted anytime soon is out the window haha.
