A Question on Headers?

I read an article on headers and the different configuration type as to the application. In short, the article rated them on efficiency through out the power band. Shorties, although benefit some are rated as the least and long tubes with longer collectors being the most. Tri-Y's were in there as a mid power band benefit only. They all however improve in some manner.
I am looking into long tubes wth at least a 2" straight section of collector. I have only seen photos of them with very short or no straight section collectors.
The question, is there a maker of such a set for my 03 5.3 truck. I want a bullet proof set with heavy flanges and coated to not corrode or rust. And if so, how are the cats and muffler systems setup on trucks like mine. I know I may be asking too much due to installation tightness or difficulty. Pic's please?

why 2" long straight collectors?? lemme know. i had edelbrock shorties. before that i had jba shorties. i went to long tubes and i will never install anything less.they are by far a superior header for our trucks and work great.and to me a little low end lost is imeasurable to the top end gained. to me it is third gear where our trucks need some power. 1-1 ratio and all that can help out on the big end and in the upper rpm's is well worth it.

There is no header for what you're thinking of I don't think. I think the best headers out right now as far as gains, build quality, and look are the TOG headers. THey have thicker flanges and are all one piece tubes for the primaries. Jus tbe sure to get them coated so you don't have issues with running rich, which would happen with almost any long tube header.

even though mine had some fitment issues, take a look at Dynatech Supermaxx system, made of heavy duty stainless (no rust or anything but they are hot) throughout, high flow cats, new Y pipe, thick flanges, etc....... alot of people have them, so I guess the fitment issue isn't as common as I would think after my ordeal

I was wondering the same thing ASM and TOG just dont seem long enough.
what kind of gains hp, track times, sotp have you got with these outrageously
priced headers? are they really worth it
or how would you rate them compared to a nelson tune (tune being10
)
