Question about performance

What would win and also be better in your opinion.
A 2004-06 reg cab 5.3 that has 295 horse and weighs 4200 lbs
or A 07 rec cab that has 315 horse and weighs 4500 lbs
Also in late 07 there is talk of a 6 speed auto being stock. So that should be a better platform to start moding. Don't you think
Since the first gear ratio of the 6 speed is 402 with a 3.73 rear gear.
If my calculations are correct that would put a 07-08 reg cab with 5.3,3.73 and a 6 speed in the mid to high 14,s. Let me know what you all think. Thanks,
Jared

Also I did more research and the 07 weighs 4448 and the 06 weighs 4218, so there is only 230 lbs difference which the extra 20-25 horsepower should over come the weight so I think the 07's are definetly quicker stock for stock without counting the new 6 speed auto gearing.

Possibly but isn't the 07 that new looking body style, imo I don't like it. If the new ones do come with ls6 heads and ya don't plan to swap heads later then it would be better to build on.If engines are the same in the 06 other then heads, you plan to swap down the road I'd stay with the 06, simply cause I think the looks are better on them, I know stupid reason but thast me.. Also the 6 speed will prolly be nice.. I still think they will run very close in the 1/4, isn't evry 100lbs good for a tenth??
