Were you using a pully puller or tring brute force! When I went to the autoparts store to rent the puller the guy at the counter said that I could just "wiggle" it off. WHATEVER! It still took some elbow grease to get it off with the puller. An impact wrench and a pully puller will make the installation fairly simple.

i did it the jerry riggin way. I put a small screw into one of the holes on the pulley, then wedge a peice of pipe between that screw and the frame, then just turned it off with a large pipe wrench with a peice of pipe on the end of it for extra leverage. Came right off. (tried for about an hour before doing this ) <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

Yea i tried the brute force way to. I had no impact or help. After I snaped the breakover bar at the head, I went to MTI.

well tell ya the truth i don't quit remember how we got it off. all i remember is holding onto the freakin thing while a friend used the impact wrench. another friend said he was trying to take one off in his automotive class and then they took some special tool and it came right off. "if i only had that tool or at least knew what it was".........
