on my 132mph run it was still acelerating quickly and i think 132mph is prety close to geting into the 9's with a good launch. there is a lot more power in it still.

i think nitrous is going to be your best way out of this. with the low boost numbers you have down low and your well built 408 you'll be able to dial traction in by nitrous. keep pouring more to it until it doesn't hook or spins the turbo up too quickly. take some away if traction is a problem. going with more stall is just going to get you into a fury of boost and more spin. a transbrake, come on you don't even have a cage yet and considering a drag only kind of part is just rediculous. using two sets of solenoids would be the easiest way or going to a programmable nitrous.

Something that ya'll need to think about with a Transbrake is driveline shock. If you think things are taking a strain now, wait until the unloaded drivetrain is hit with 1000+ ftpds and 4000+lbs. You will start shattering parts left and right.

If you add bigger brakes and a twostep, you can have the twostep come on with the brake pedal. If you can retard timing on the twostep as well, you will build alot better boost. Just thinking outloud here..

Nitrous is your cheap an easy. The Duramax HD trucks with the engine driven brake booster and large brakes allow the 4WD trucks really load the driveline for launch. They can spool 25 pounds of boost at the tree. Might be an area that you could rob some parts from to help your situation.

With my converter it lets me boost to about 1900 RPM and 10 PSI before I blow through the brakes in 2WD.

It is amazing the difference between the 2WD launch and the 4WD launch....

I don't mind hitting it with the nitrous so I will be doing that but the next time I have it apart I might get the stall turned up a notch. It only stalls to 2700 so it would still drive nice with a little higher stall. I did put about 100 miles on it last night with no problems at all.

i also got the most of the Omaha police force called on me. i was doing some testing on a quiet industrial road. there was a couple of "citizen patrol" cars that kept driving by as i was siting on the side of the road looking at my logs. i just ignored them and waited till they turned the corner before i did another test. i was only doing 0-60mph runs. eventually i got my tuning done and went on my way, i went to the local hang out where there was 100+ cars chilling out, it was a pretty hopping night. about 5 minutes after i got there a cop drove by my truck real slow and then stopped then another showed, then another and another. 4 cops surrounded my truck and they all got out and just looked at the crowd waiting for the owner to come over. so i did.

they told me they had multiple reports of a truck like mine tearing thru neighborhoods now that just can't be true since the only place i was at was the industrial area. i told them i didn't understand what was going on and that i was doing some drivability tuning over at that remote spot. they didn't seem to understand what i was talking about with the drivability tuning. they saw the nitrous bottle(closed), and the meth tank and searched my truck. guess what, they found my video camera and watched the tape. there was video of them busting up the hang outs and pulling people over and there was some video of me racing a bike over and over. they gave me a major guilt trip and took some info but eventually let me go. whew!!!

i am running out of spots to do tuning. i want to go out and modify the meth set up today and go make some full runs but i dont know if i want to chance it. seems the cops get called out instantly these days.

I was in the same boat a few years back. I was street racing, and we just finished up, and we had taken a video of it. We were sitting there when the cops came up, saw the video camera, and asked to view it....I said "nope, No reason for you to look at it, " They kept on, and so did I. Finally, they gave us all warnings and told us to split, which we did. But I was NOT about to let them watch that video. I am not sure if they have the right to do something like that. Maybe they do, maybe they don't...

woohoo!!!

not sure why i am so stupid some times. i need to listen to people sometimes.

i tried the rev it up while holding the brakes and guess what, lots of brake boost!!! i could feel the pedal drop after i reved it. then i put it in gear and put it to the floor. it still took awhile to build boost but it built it and never moved. i held it to 3500rpm and 8psi before i let go and it riped all 4 loose for a 100feet .

i tried a few other things like a full 1/4mile run and ran into a couple of problems. the bov is opening while i am at wot at about 90mph. i need to figure that out. my idle is high and there is a slight ocasional stumble. the idle and stumble were there last night but it isn't always there. i need to figure that out before i beat on it too much. last thing is i tried the cut out and it went way lean and added about 4psi. i got to about 21psi, saw some knock and let off. then looked at the logs and saw it was lean and high boost.

looks like i have a lot of things to figure out still but geting it to brake boost is a big one so i am happy

if this is the case you may want to add the vacuum pump from an 05' truck to yours and trigger it as needed.
