Default ProTruck 3400, first impressions

I have just installed my PT3400. My first impression is that, it is a very good street converter. It is about 15lbs heavier than my Vig. I did not weight the two but, just picking the two up side by side (the Vig still had some fluid in it). It is tighter than my Vig, normal driving and WOT. It feels like it could have slowed my down on the motor but, I think that it is a perfect N20 converter. My tranny temp also stayed about 25 degress cooler. It is a really nice and strong converter. It feels and drives like my buddy's old Yank 3000.
I have not seen any reviews for these converters so I thought I would post my thoughts and opinions.

Good, glad to hear it seems ok. Mine just arrived Wed and I should have the tranny built by next week. I told Mike the specs on my Midwest and he seemed to think the 3400 would be as good or better than what I had. I was 100% satisfied with the Midwest but I always hear Yank this and Yank that so since I am overhauling the tranny I figured it would be a perfect time to try it out. The Midwest is on standby, just in case the Yank doesn't perform.

Glad to hear that both of you are trying them out. But, you both have a reputation of going through motors and parts pretty quickly. I have a feeling the Yank will get a good stress test from you guys.

stupidfast, is this Yank behind the LS1 in your sig or the new APE setup? So this converter feels tight? great. What rpm does the converter footbrake to and what rpm does it flash to from a standing stomp?

I love mine! Hee hee, the proto type. Very nice street converter. I really hardly noticed the differance until I wound it up and banged on it a little. That's where I noticed it was really there. It doesn't fall on it's face between shifts anymore.

It is behind the LS1. It footbrakes to 2,800 and flashs to around 3,400. I like it so far.
