I'm planing on coming off the turbo with a mandel bend 90 and mount the muffler right over the axle then another 90 to the tail pipe on the drivers side.

 

would anyone consider the exhaust tone as "raspy" when its catless. ill be running a cutout as exhaust.

 

My cats are coming off here in a few weeks but Im doing LT's and switching to Magnaflow so I dont think Ill see any loss!

 

Without cats on mine its a little raspy, but only when the engine is reved in neutral which I rarely do. Probably would be more raspy without the turbo though.

 

Boy does it ever! I had the typical loud raspy f-body sound without the cats. That was not too bad, but I also had this mind numbing drone at 1500-1800 rpms that I could not live with. I threw on some high flow cats and I'm happy. The SES light even turned itself off. Listen to your truck exhaust sound very closely before you remove the cats. If it drones a little at or near highway speeds, removing the cats is only going to amplify the effect. Of course, none of this may not matter to you younger guys. Us old guys seem to like it "quiet".

 

yes, very raspy if you go catless and a cutout,,,, it ONLY sounds good at WOT... other than that you get a headache real quick!!! but if you go catless with a muffler it sounds good at any RPM....

 

You can buy a H-type balance pipe just about anywhere, and the H-pipe is alot eaisier to install on these trucks. Otherwise, the scavenging affect is totally off, and your pulsewidth is not going to reflect correctly.
