what are the pros and cons of removing the cats? ive heard you will lose bottom end power is this true?? i have a 03 rcsb 4.8

 

pros= more flow, better sound
cons=dont know any, couldnt feel a difference in low end

 

pro: the ticket you avoid when you get pulled over
con: having to figure a way around inspection

depending on how it sounds i might do it.

 

Just purchase some high flow cats and be done with all the pros and cons.
The benifit from high flow cats to no cats could not be much at all.
Plus if you have high flow cats, when it comes time for inspection, they are there and they can not say anything.

I just recently took my cats off. The sound is nice, it is real deep. I have the factory stall converter still in, and I did loose a little bit of bottom end. But not a whole lot, what I did loose the truck makes up for from 3k up, then it just screams. My previous 1/8th mile best was 9.97, when I took the cats off I ran a 9.86. So it made a little difference.

 

Pros=sound, power gas milage
cons=sound. But if its too loud, you're too old.

 

i will be installing a 2500 stall this weekend. my truck really picks up after 2500-3000. i just dont want to kill what take off power i still have(which never was much). thanks alot. how much did your 60 ft change?
