I did a little smoothing and polishing on mine as well. When I went out and did a HP Tuner log run afterwards I saw zero gain in airflow. Maybe it doesn't matter as much in a Magnacharged application. Or maybe I didn't do enough?...

Umm... If you own a highspeed rotary just do it. The hardest part is the removal and install. Just get a bit speced for grinding metal. Take your tube off and just look at the ridges. All your trying to do is get the cfm up to what it is rated at. The only tip I can think of is feel the progress with your hand, once the main ridges are gone it gets hard to see how much material is actually being removed. The more time you put into it the better it will be. After a week of driving, all I can say is damn why did I wait so long to try this. I wondered if it could be screwed up and sure it could be done, but that seems like it would be hard to do. I still have more to do (grinding the shaft , smoothing the blade, and getting a straigter shot to the blade) but this will be benificial for all future mods. Just be sure you have the gasket just in case or order a pro tb if your still unsure .

so is the basic purpose of this is to make the throttle body bigger by grinding away the inside of the TB to allow more air to pass through, and to make it smoother to allow the air to flow easier????

it sounds like something worthwhile doing, if all you need is a dremel.

you mentioned dont grind or polish anything behind the blade/barrier in the middle.
what about those 2 little holes.
thanks alot in advance

Most I have seen had those holes filled and smoothed.

Mine looks just like Greggo's.. I didn't polish it up. Just ground down the inner lip and calle dit good. I really didn't notice any difference though. I've done a ton of em for F-bodies as well and all I ever noticed was better throttle response. *shrug*

Im thinking of putting a stock one on and log the airflow and then put my ported one on and see if airflow changes at all. It also another good excuse to try to do some more porting This will be my 4th time taking it off and trying to open it up a little more.

Yea, I am wondering how much of a difference you can get once the ridges are gone. These seem to be the biggest influence on flow and I have really felt a gain just with what I have now. It seems like people that have the fully done ones report only small gains from stock so Im not sure if its worth it to go back in there. I know I will anyway just because, but I wont be expecting much more of anything. The only way to get more cfm would to be to buy a bigger tb (certainly not free) and I think that would be dictated by your other mods.
