Default Port NBS intake/TB or swap NNBS intake?

I thought I scored big last night on a complete NNBS intake/throttlebody, did some after work craigslist horsetrading.

But it was dark & cold....I was in a hurry.

Got home and my almost new 09 6.0 intake turns out to be a very clean NBS setup.

Apparently a local dealer installed a blower on a 6.0 at 4,000mi.

So now I'm debating on sending this nice intake/tb off for porting or should I hold out and try to source a NNBS setup?

This truck is pretty well stock for now, it's taking on kind of an OEM+ theme. I'll probably source the CPP 5.3 or LS6 cam sometime down the road, maybe port the heads some too.

I think a stock NNBS would flow better than a ported NBS any day, that's just speculation though. They can be found for around $120 new bare.

With a 5.3 Id stick with a NBS intake. A few weeks ago I installed a NNBS intake on a 06 5.3, even after tuning the bottom end lost enough power to feel on the but dyno.

Thats weird, I wonder why it works so well on the newer 5.3? I'm also getting my hands on a used bare 6.2 intake today

6.2 intakes have square ports, wont match the cathedral ports on your 5.3 heads.

I have a 5.7 in my truck, the mid range does feel slightly improved, top end does not feel any better.

My buddy has a 6.0, the bottom end and mid range feel better, top end feels no different than stock NBS intake.

That's interesting. I'm considering sending it off for porting as I doubt I could get anything for it.
