Well guys- changed the plugs out the other day, Delco 41-985 iridiums. Truth be told the truck got some of it soul back, but then I was also pushing 81k, so how often should you change plugs? What came oACDelco 12567759, apparently made by NGK, #PZTR5A 15. I NGK ran a batch for GM at the time. At around 8 bucks a plug, could I have made do with the copper core? I retained the original wires and read and read and talked to people B4 I did the job.
With a pair of slim electrical pliers I grasped that channel in the metal band around the boot, off of a fulcrumb I popped the boot of- I was astounded how easily this happened after all the horror stories I've heard. The plugs themselves even came out easily, I thought about soaking the plugs with liquid wrench overnight, no need though- took me about an hor and 10 mins to do the job. Now for tuning ...........

NGK TR55's or TR6's are great plugs to use. As for wires, I had a set of Taylor 409's and Thundervolts, and with both sets, I had at least two of plug wires break on the FIRST spark plug swap. I was pulling on the boot also, not the wire. The little connector on the wire would break off of the wire and stick to the plug. Then I went with MSD wires and they have held up awesome after multiple plug changes. Taylor wires are crap.

What part number are you ordering for your MSD wires on a 5.3L?

Gonna go with the NGK TR55s too. Had them on my LS1 and I liked them alot.
