You gotta remember that these service guys get paid for service, so anything you do in their eyes will never be the right thing to do. I cant believe a service guy who says there is no difference between plugs and wires, if that was the case then there wouldnt be so many companys making them, and there wouldnt be so much R&D into sprak plug materials and spark size. Is it going to make you go holy Shi#! These plugs just turned my truck into a beast!...No it isnt, but there are better plugs and wires then stock.

Simple electrical formula. P= I * V or Power = Current * Voltage. Your system voltage never changes, it is a constant in a vehicle. So to get more power in your elctrical system you have to mess with current. Current is voltage / resistence. Once again Voltage is constant. So the only thing you can really mess with is reistence. Resistence is just that, the resistence to the flow of electricity. If you increase the bottom number or increase your resistence, then your current drops, and you dont have as much current to create power. If you lower resistence, your dividing by a lower number, voltage is constant and current goes up, if current goes up so to does power. You now have a more efficient electrical system and at least mathmatically you have more power. The more insulation a wire has around the less loss the wire will see as the current travels from the coil pack to the spark plug. The more current you deliver the hotter the spark...

These service guys get paid to plug their own products, no pun intended...I would take what he said witha grain of salt. If OEM was the best there would be no market for aftermarket performance products, and we all know that isnt true.

insulation has nothing to do with conductivity. The losses come from the resistance within the wire. The larger the conductor or the shorter the wire, the less resistance you will have. Insulation retains voltage. More insulation is needed for high voltages because of the higher potential. Just a small clarification other than that those are some very valid points. Might go pick up some new wires as well.

He said that because service guys make comission on what they sell you. So if you don't buy the AC delco that they get for lower then wholesale he doesnt make as much money. Also it gives him something to blame you for if your car ever does brake down.

MSD TR6's.

With stock wire, at least 1 would always come apart when changing plugs.
