ok i posted the other day that my change oil light came on early. on the startup that it did it the piston slap sounded so loud that it reminded me of my mom's suburban which has a rod knocking. ever since, the piston slap has been twice as loud as it used to be and it doesnt go away when the engine warms up like it used to. is it still piston slap or do i probably have a rod knocking now. engine barely has 70k on it
what would cause it to get louder? please help. thanks
Bryan
btw---tranny is going out if that might have any effect--such as parts in the tranny walking forward into the engine. i dont know but i saw a thread that said that could happen.

i had piston slap on a 80k truck. I started using lucas oil stabilizer and five quarts of mobile one. no more noise. i know people that use it with regular oil and it makes theirs quiet also.

this is crappy, i havent dogged on this engine near enough to need a rebuild. and i dont understand why the noise coincided with the change oil light coming on. oh well. guess i might as well save up some more and just have a new engine put in when the new tranny goes in. this bites.
