Default piston slap louder-need help please

ok i posted the other day that my change oil light came on early. on the startup that it did it the piston slap sounded so loud that it reminded me of my mom's suburban which has a rod knocking. ever since, the piston slap has been twice as loud as it used to be and it doesnt go away when the engine warms up like it used to. is it still piston slap or do i probably have a rod knocking now. engine barely has 70k on it what would cause it to get louder? please help. thanks
Bryan
btw---tranny is going out if that might have any effect--such as parts in the tranny walking forward into the engine. i dont know but i saw a thread that said that could happen.

i had piston slap on a 80k truck. I started using lucas oil stabilizer and five quarts of mobile one. no more noise. i know people that use it with regular oil and it makes theirs quiet also.

If your oil pressure is the same as it's always been,it's not a spun rod rod bearing ,probably piston slap and lifters wearing out.

lifters wearing out?!!! hardly. piston slappy? yep. sounds like a golden opportunity to build a motor to me.

this is crappy, i havent dogged on this engine near enough to need a rebuild. and i dont understand why the noise coincided with the change oil light coming on. oh well. guess i might as well save up some more and just have a new engine put in when the new tranny goes in. this bites.

If I was in your shoes I would wait a little, plenty of people have had this problem and have driven with it for years, but then again you could also go to a junk yard and yank the drive line out of a busted 2500 and rebuild I wouldnt be too worried until I start seeing smoke or using alot of oil.
