Default piston ring question

i recently had a 1k mile lq4 engine put in to my truck... it only has 10k on it now and got a set of lq9 flat top pistons just sitting in the garage... they dont have rings on them and was wondering if i could take the rings off the dished lq4 pistons and put them on the flat top lq9 pistons because they are both 4 inch pistons.... could this work??... i would make sure to keep the rings in the same cylinder bore also... engine makes great compression and doesnt smoke........everything is arp studded so dismantle/rebuild expense is not an issue

Yes you can, just make sure every thing is the same on the lq4 pistons and put the rings in the same bore they came from
Also for taking them apart and reinstalling the rings use a ring spreader dont twist the rings on, that tool is 8$
Also make sure you won't be having any piston to head or piston to valve issues
Good luck it should be fairly straight forward

rings are too cheap to risk screwing up an engine, hone the cylinder walls and put some new rings in it
