BYUNSPEED over at ls1tech.com has the best price and customer service youll find anywhere. ordered my headers last thursday and got them on tuesday.

 

The 3 to 3.5 Y is actually more than I need on motor but it is not hurting me. As greentahoe stated, it left me room to grow when I decide to go larger dislpacement and/or FI. I did not loose anything in the part throttle range going from the dual 2.5" dumped setup to the current setup. A 2.5 to 3" y setup on your truck would be fine even when you step up and get a cam, IMO. It might even be a bit cheaper to have made with the smaller materials.

Also, if you are going to copy my exhaust, I wouldn't put in the extra flange right before the y-collector on the driver side tube. Just be sure to put a flang after the collector so you can drop the entire y-pipe for tranny work.

 

i think ive decided to make a 3" y pipe like yours but going 2.5" duel into an x and some bullets dumped. it probably will come down to cost of the whole setup

that's what i've been thinking about doing TX. my stock catback is hurting my performance. by disconnecting it at the y pipe i gained 3/10ths.

bigkid, did you have to crush that beam that crosses between the frame rails so the exhaust can clear? if so how did you do it?

 

No, that is how it was stock. You should have plenty clearance if yours isnt like that.
