i was wondering how is it possible or how hard is it to swap a duromax into a vehicle with a 5.3 engine.
i now the harnesses and fuel system would be completly different, but for motormounts, size of the engine, drivetrain hookup etc.
is it possible

i was looking at an envoy is equiped with an optional 5.3 V8, and i know the trucks have options for 4.8-6.0 and duromax, anybody know much on the duromax?

Your problems will come in with the trannies.....the HD frames are 2" taller to fit the tranny. As far as the swap....you will HAVE to have a full donor truck. The amount of work and parts you would need would be enormous. As far as the price on a new one....I think its a $3800+ option.

ya with looking on the gm website i see that the duromax uses an allison transmission, so that wells me it doint look like it would be very easy to swap at all.

plus i didnt know the frames were different.

not worth it unless you have a wrecked parts truck to donate. guys are running 11s and 12s in 7K lbs duramax trucks. go for a reg 2500 HD if you want to go that route. we LOVE ours.
