ORY for an '00 2500 6.0L truck
#1
I am looking for a set of headers and ORY for my truck which is a 2000 4x4 2500(non-HD) with the 6.0L. I have searched but I could not find any ORY or other exhaust that is bolt on. It seems most had to fab their y pipe? Appreciate any help. Thanks!

The framerails to the rear axle are identicle to a 2500HD, the body mounts are just a little lower on the framerail than the HD versions. I think the OBX setup for a 6.0 will bolt up to you stock system. I think it is your best bet.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm also going to research dynatech as thats what I used on my vette before upgrading. They list that the ypipe fits the 2500 trucks. I am actually not ppposed to using a y-pipe/single exhaust setup. Would any of the other setups work on my truck if I went with a single in exhaust meant for a 1500 truck as a catback?

If it were mine I would get just headers. Then install and custom build dual pipes from the headers to your old stock pipe. Magnaflow made a catback for your truck at one point you might check there.

I used the OBX kit for a 1500 on my truck(which is the same as the 2500 non-HD) It has resonators instead of cats and uses a Y pipe. I pulled a stock 1500 flange off a wrecked truck to mate up to the OBX Y and had a short transition pipe fabed to connect to my single 3" catback. Fitment was great with plenty of clearance everywhere. I'm very happy with the results. The OBX are a Dynatech 1st design copy, so I'm sure the DT setup would fit the same.

Thats great info, thanks guys! About using the OBX setup, why did you have to install a flange? Did your existing catback not have a flange and teh OBX setup did (or vice versa)? Also, other than that small modification did everything else line-up/fit well? Appreciate all the help!

It fit very well. The OBX had the flange. My truck did not. I could have cut it off and went with a different style, but it was an easy enough solution. I needed the flange because I chose to go with the y-pipe setup rather than the 2 seperate intermediate pipes which is what my truck was set up for. 6l trucks don't have this flange.
