Default Opinions needed on LS1edit!!!

Ok after having my predator with a "custom tune" for about 3 weeks (and 1 new PCM later)I have been wondering if I should get LS1 edit instead. I have heard that the Predator just gives you more power at WOT and LS1edit you can change throughout the power band. Plus I don't really like the idea of someone customising my own program instead of me seeing what i need to do.NO offense to anyone I am going to continue to mod and get some sort of A-tap for sure but would LS1edit be a better choice?? And can i ajust anything so my truck doesn't run TOO lean/rich with a supercharger on till i get an A-tap?? Thanks in advance for your opinions

As long as you have some sort of diagnostic tool to see vital parameters and you know how or can learn what maps and tables to change, Edit is a great tool. It is a bit overwhelming when you first look at the program though. I have been tuning via autotap but really need a wideband O2 to do it right.

How long of a trial period do you have with a predator? thinking about getting rid of it for edit. I think I will be going beyond the predators ability to tune soon.

yup, got it from pulley boys. I think stock was 5.5. I get a little KR on 92. 5 gals of paint thinner and 15 oz of tranny fluid gets rid of it. So about the predator?

DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR YANK?!?!?!?!!!! If you do then I want it!! That eaton you sold me is awesome makes me smile everytime i punch it and turn a corner. Yes I am seriously thinking about ditching this PCM crashing predator. I dont think it is going to be able to tune for the things I am going to do to this.... you know... cam, stall, and maybe a 6.0. They can't seem to get the custom tuning right to make it not run lean. And sometimes it runs funny like at around 1700 it runs like it heasetates then WAMM-- Powerband. How can I use your LS1edit? Isn't it PCM locked Anyways i would be interested.and it would be much appreciated thanks!

oh yea, you have my posi, i thought i sold you my yank. the yank is gone.

here is the deal on tuning, i have atap and it should work on your truck.

i have a wideband but there are a couple of parts that you wire into your truck that you would need to buy, the controler and sensor are the expensive parts and we could swap that into your truck anytime we wanted to do some tuning.

on the ls1edit, you can put up to 4 vins on one cable, i have 3 on there now and want to save the 4th for my next project, thing is i dont need the vin for my old truck anymore so if they can pull that vin off to free up a slot you could then be added to this cable and still leave me an open slot. we would have to email carputing and see if they can pull a vin off the cable. to add your vin to my cable costs $150+50 but i would like to get a little of my initial investment back so i would like to call it an even $250

i have had some luck tuning in injectors, ltrims and wot a/f ratio, turning off the cats, rev limiters and shift points are easy. never did figure out the timing part though. email me if you want to reserch this some more but if we do it you would have to come to omaha anytime you wanted to do any tuning cause i want to keep this stuff close. oh yea, got a gtech too, good for testing results .

I know how to do the timing stuff.(at least it worked for me)

I just checked what another tuning company does and it works.

954 - I don't know if I'd trust that parish8 guy.

That would be me that bought the Yank. I also have LS1Edit now as well as ATAP. If using Parish's cable doesn't work out, I've got three empty slots on mine. You'd probably still want Parish to help on the tuning though since I'm still learning!
