Default Which one next: Fans or Pulley?

Which one will give the most power, flex-a-lite electric fans (295-I think that's the #) or ASP Crank Pulley?

I got a few questions about both:

About the fans, I think I've heard that the settings or whatever start at 180*. I've got a 160* thermostat, will that hurt anything? Will I have to get something different?

About the crank pulley. Since I've had my cam installed, my truck has benn idling @ about 500-550rpms. Will the the crank pulley affect my idle or charging? Will it drain my battery?

I'd like to get my idle raised to about 800 when I get it dyno-tuned at Futral Motorsports. I'm trying to get these things on before I get on the dyno, so I'll have a good # .

Bite the bullet and do them both (if you can). Your battery should be fine if you don't have alot of stereo equipment. The pulley didn't change my idle at all. If you get the fans hotwire them so you can turn them on/off with a toggle switch, as well as wire them either to the computer or temp sensor.

Watch out for the smaller alt pulley from asp. Mine squeals and shreads belts. Another on the board reported the same problem. I have already sent it back for a replacement and the new one does the same thing.
The e-fans with the 160 stat are nice. My temps never get above 195 unless I am stopped have the a/c on and in the middle of the day. I do know how to wire them to be controlled by the pcm. The thing is you need to use ls1 edit to turn them on. Which is probably what allenwill use to tune your truck. Shoot me an email and I can give you more details. I live about 3 miles from futral. He is going to be doing my gears and eaton install as soon as I get everything in.

Lar, what PCM pin did you wire your fans to and do you need a special tool to connect the wire to the PCM?

Thanks

Smoke your 5.0, (local dyno *****) had done extensive testing and I think the fans made more power.

Definately go for the fans the difference in throttle response is worth it alone.

Thanks Lar,
looks like my only problem will be finding an unused pin since I have 4WD.
