Old school big block swap

It's organized better than searching, and some us prefer to try to learn in multiple ways. Most of the threads on here seem to be written for someone who is more advanced. If it was done 10 years ago, the pictures might not be there. It's biggest benefit, is his experience being a TV host has made the production of the videos better than just about everything else. His videos don't have minute long irrelevant intros, they don't have music playing over top of the narration. He is clear, does the entire walk through, and gets you about 90% of the way there on his videos. You might be able to find threads about it, but I'll bet you can't find a video done better.

No kidding. I don't bother watching how-to videos...quite literally the slowest way to learn something. If you find the local search engine sub-par...google your topic followed by 'site:https://www.performancetrucks.net/'.
At a minimum, the people who compile forum write-ups aren't begging for your 'like and subscribe' like the rest of the influencers/influenzas out there...that's the best part

I started watching LT right when he started his YT channel on the Ugly Truck with the blown transmission. He motivated me to start on my 99 Silverado swap V6 to V8 swap.
I liked his earlier videos, but now he's relying on his Chanel more it seems like and he's changed some stuff on his videos. I don't blame him.
I still watch his videos. At least he seems to be pretty honest and does things correctly as far as I can see. He even did a transmission rebuild himself (something I'd started learning on my own), which is pretty daunting in itself. Same as regearing an axle. Both of those are kinda vo-doo to learn it seems. I think watching his videos made it seem more achievable to the DIYer trying to do these things in their garage or driveway.
Does basic tuning himself and light fabrication. Pretty well-rounded and versatile guy, I think. No drama, and very little rambling. I like him.
OP, what is this going into? I also have an 8.1/Allison sitting in my garage. I bought it to swap into my OBS K3500 CCLB SRW, but I'm currently working on my GMT800s and haven't convinced myself if it's worth my time. 🤔🤷

Everything he does on that channel is something that was done here on the forum at least a decade ago.
