Mine uses about 1qt every 1000-1200 miles, the dealership is doing a oil consumption test right now, so we will see what happens.

for 8.1 oil consumption there is a lifter valley cover gasket update(tsb)
for 5.3 ther is a fixed orfice update (tsb0 which did not do sh*t on my old 02
5.3) what fixed it was an ls6 lifter valley cover w/ internal baffle. bolts right up and all you have to do is run the hose down to it. this part i beleive is around 60 bucks.

thats what Im talking about Ive always wondered why ventilate the crank case to the intake, what is the reasoning. Couldnt I just put a filtered breather on the crank case and plug up the hose going to the intake. Do you think there would be anything harmful in that?
