Yeah, no. Only LS7s have had issues that I have ever read
Sounds like crock to me...
Richard did my current heads. I Also went with the tried and true 706 Castech castings that everyone cries about...

I could be wrong but abnormal guide wear just doesn't add up on a fresh LS. I've seen high mileage SBC's with the oil drain back ports in the heads slammed blowby clogged, causing the covers to overfill with oil dumping into the worn guides. Even with the slap worn out smoking pos... a simple coat hanger clearing the rear drainbacks the guide smoke clears up. I know apples & oranges. It may be best to get back on the stand and reverse the build paying close attention to the rings (bevel) placement while looking for scuffs, abnormal end gap clearances, overlapped oil control rings or broken ring lands.

Would a high pressure oil pump be causing my issue?

I was lookimg thru all my order and parts I got for the engine to make sure there wasn't some sort of part miss match. I noticed that the oil pump said it was a high volume/puresure melding unit. I though I had order a stock pump but thats not what I got.

Update: This weekend I changed over to the LS6 valley cover and a small catch can and blocked off the PCV on the valve cover in a last ditch effort to not take the engine apart. Results is no smoke, anywhere at all, under any condition and no oil in the catch can yet. the oil seems to be staying in the engine now. Put new spark plugs in it Saturday, beat the snot out of it, pull them last night, no oil and they look healthy.

LOL!!! I had no doubts but i wasn't sure how to go about it or what was even causing the problem, I still dont know why but i know its not smoking anymore so why may never be known...... I may need a update to my tune, since the change the rpms have been hanging a bit high since the PCV change.

A little update and question: After a year of driving this truck almost everyday with the LS6 pcv and catch can, it did the trick controling the oil in the intake. Between every oil change and at oil change time, i would empty the catch can, the amount of oil would be different. But there would still be oil in the can, the oil pressure would run just a hair higher than 40 psi running down the road at about 2k rpm. Fast forward to about 3 weeks ago, i went to a car show one Friday night, everything was normal, hung out for a couple hours then dipped out. Me and a couple other trucks leaving at the same time so we decided to go to "mexico". I did about 5 pulls in total against the trucks and one overly aggressive youngster in a mustang. After all the pulls were done, i headed about an hour back to the house. On the way home I noticed my oil pressure was up around 55-60 psi and staying there. Stopped to get gas, started the truck again and saw the oil pressure up over 40 at idle, its running fine and no smoke anywhere....i did a little pull on getting on the highway and saw the oil pressure get a little over 70 psi....again its running fine.
2 days later on sunday, i got to my shop and change the oil, nothing out of the ordinary as far as the oil goes....looks like used oil. I check the catch can and it dry as a bone....no oil to pour or wipe out. I check all the hoses and nothing is blocked. So to my question: Is it possible that engine decided to seal up now, after about 25k miles? how much oil pressure is too much? am I over thinking this, just drive it till the problem presents itself?
Thanks

Where in Northside did you go

I would keep going on your truck for a while, possibly the sensor is going bad. I'd say put some more miles on it and see what it does, if it is nothing funky then you are probably fine just keep an eye on it.
