The wiring harness will not work, it will not match the plug under the fuse box and the 2 connctors going into the pcm will be a different color i tried it with my swap you will most likely have to get a 03-06 harness and a dbw and tac mod and an oil psi switch to match the newer harness.

Hey Steve - my truck is a V6 work truck with DBC TB - does that still apply to me that i would basically have to convert it over to DBW?? The Main reason I got a DBC 5.3 was to "NOT" have to deal with "THAT" hassle of converting over to DBW.

Well got the old motor (DBC 4.3) out. And lemme tell ya'll what a pain in the @$$ were those top 2 transmission bolts. There was a lot of misguided information out there. So just for my sanity and to help others out: there are 8 Transmission bolts!!!!!! 6 which are easily reachable from under the truck and 2 which are blindly reached from the top. Ohhhhh and to top it off the top bolts had accessories or brackets in front bolted on. So made it even more harder to navigate. Ohhhhhh and so my plan was to get the old motor out and at least bolt the new motor in but that became irrelevant once I snapped 3!!!!!!!!! Of the motor mount to frame mount bolts!!!!!! So now I need to order new frame mounts before I can drop the new motor in. FML!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone got a part number for them frame mounts? Well we at least smoked a few cigars
Gonna need to power wash this before I put the new motor in.

it is much harder to convert it to cable i also wanted he cable but ended up dbw the switch is not hard at all just need a tac mod and a pedal and the fram mounts have to come off of any silverado 99-06 suburban ones WILL NOT WORK all of the v6s came with cable tb as well. so you still have the newer v6

Doing a 2000 GMC 4.3 to 6.0 (LQ9) swap and hit a snag. The donor engine, wiring harness and ECM (12589463) came out of a 2005 Escalade. Just received an e-mail from Brendan Patten from LS1Swap and he confirmed the 2005 harness will not work with my 2000 fuse block.

Its possible to make what you have work, but can’t even begin to explain pin for pin what needs done. Basically the starter circuits are completely different (includes wiring for park neutral position switch), there are wires for cruise control that need moved around. Wire location for power circuits may need moved. Wouldn’t know without side by side comparison.

If anyone is in the reverse situation and in need of a UNCUT 2003 - 2006 harness and ECU and wanting to swap (or has a 00-02 harness for sale) hit my PM. This is the only issue holding me from completing the swap. I'll list the harness and ECM in the classified section if someone is in need. I also have a used but clean DBW throttle body I won't be able to use.

I’ve read this treat 3 times and didn’t see the answer. I’m doing a 05 v6 to 05 5.3 swap over a weekend. Can I use the v8 ecm without any reflashing. This truck is my daily driver so it can only be down for the weekend.

THE PCM MUST HAVE VATS DELETED OR YOU CAN DO THE SECURITY RELEARN PROCEDURE BUT WHAT IS IN THE PCM YOU GET. I.E. Incorrect gear ratio, tire size,4wd,awd,rwd ect.
