Running lower tire pressure will help increase you contact patch an will allow the sidewall some give, but too low a tire pressure on radial is just goning to cause worse traction problems. Every tire and vehicle will respond differently to pressure decreases. You're going to have to do some trial and error. Just take your time and run 3-5 psi lower per attempt and see what happens.

i've been told for a radial to actually increase or keep the tire pressure at the recommended pressure b/c when you drop the pressure in a radial they tend to cup in rather than keep a flat contact patch...
