it wont hurt your motor any more than any FI if you do it right with all the safety precautions. your tranny may not be happy if your run in daily, but that can be built. go for the nx gm efi wet kit. that seems to be the kit to have with all the guys on silveradoss.com. should run you about $600 for the kit and another $300 for the gen x upgrade(reccomended). with a 100 shot, you will easily see low to mid 13s.

The first step to proper nitrous use is to NOT call is NOS, Naaaws, Nawz or any other name out of a ricers nomenclature..

NOS is a company. It stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems.

Ok. in all seriousness. A good safe kit should run you about $700-$1000 depending on what options you go with. Refills vary in price but in my area a 15lb bottle refill will cost you between $54-$60.

If tuned properly you shouldn't hurt anything BUT anything can happen. Parts can fail.

i know iam robbing the thread here, but i would think you would be way faster with all those mods than high 15s. especially with nitrous. maybe iam missing something here.

my brothers ext cab 2003 5.3L runs low 15s with just exhaust and CAI. its the stepside bed though. maybe that has something to do with it.

Definitly get a wet kit. NX and TNT seem to be the favorited on this site. I went with TNT but would also use NX and almost all my accessories are NX. You can get away with just doing bottle(**with blowoff vlave**), 2 solenoids, hoses, jets, and nozzle which is what every basic kit comes with and it will work fine. If you want to make life alot easier when using n20 make sure you get the following automatic bottle heater($100) and a n20 gauge($40+). In my opinion it is a pain in the *** not to have those two things. As far as the gauge one that attachs to the bottle is fine unless you want to do a gauge pod and then get a digital one! You will be very happy with the above system. You can always add pieces like purge kit(around $100) and remote opener($200+). I just bought parts over a 6 month period and did everything at onece and I got basiclly every possible. For safety I would get a FPSS(fuel pressure safety switch)($50) no matter what but some dont use them. They cut the n20 off if your fuel pressure drops below a certain point.

picked my complete nx wet kit up on ebay for 300.00. It came with a 10 pound bottle, bottle heater, pressure guage, all wiring and Wide Opent Throttle switch. Granted I took a chance doing that and it looked like a rats nest when it came in the box . I just did some research thanks to ls1tech and got lots of help on this forum and installed it all my self. Also I have to run 93 octane and I have colder spark plugs (ngk tr6) to take precautions to prevent detonation.
